(have asked this question in several places, so please don't be surprised if you see something similar somewhere else :) )
I'm a member of non-official Zend Framework russian community. With a couple of other developers we are currently developing a library (ZF based) for managing hierarchical structures of data in databases. We have many things done (design and coding), the library has been used in real projects already and recently we decided to create a proposal for Zend_Db_Tree component. For that we need to make refactoring, rethink some design/concept moments and I think it can become useful for other developer as a part of Zend Framework (may be as a part of ZendX if first is not possible), because I've personally met many developers who liked Zend_Db, but chose Doctrine(or whatever else) just because Zend_Db doesn't support "easy-working-with-trees".
Obviously, there are some moments we have doubts about and we need to ask community for help and of course 'Proposals' is ideal place for that, but while we are preparing the proposal (it is going to be quite big) and thinking about general design issues we wanted to ask for opinion here about necessity of component like one we are developing.
We will be really appreciate for any thoughts or ideas you have.
