have a done a little debugging - and the error message is actually correct!
my script was actually trying to add the same element twice...

the problem is actually with:
findManyToManyRowset()

which is, for some reason, returning the same table row 2 times.....
hmm.... well, at least Zend_Dojo_Data is working...
