The quoting differentiates between numbers and strings and automagically
adds quotes around strings.
After the behaviour changed I was forced to cast the integer type on all
my ids in order to prevent ZF from putting quotes around ids and by that
fetching empty rows ...
This used to be a feature I impressed my co-developers with - and it had
been ruined ... *sniff* ... or it worked incidentally and was never
designed to work like that - who knows ... :D
