Re: [fw-db] Zend_Db_Adapter_Mssql

I appreciate you help Ralph. I don't know if I can tell you this but It seems PHP is getting more good points for using it in big projects but there seems to be not so good support for the PHP extensions like db drivers for considering PHP as stable as Java in that topic. Remember that enterprise class appz use many underlying db managers so if zend framework an PHP (Zend) want to go that route the PHP platform need to have a solid db driver foundation. So if you can send this comment to the appropiate people It would be helpful. thank you.

After db2 which I am finishing up, mssql is next up on my chopping block. I do not have a timeline, but I do want to get support for and fully test pdo_odbc for Zend_Db in before 1.8.

So far I've gotten some good feedback in jira as per how to get started with it.  Once I get a good foundation laid, Ill post back to this list.

Hello guys,

I am already pushing zend framework in the enterprise world (in the software factory I work). But I have little but no knowledge as what driver/adapter to use for a MS Sql Server db. I know the pdo_mssql driver has bugs and that is the one that uses de Zend_DB adapter for sql server databases. We have big projects that can not rely on a bugus driver. What can I use before the launch of the odbc driver for Zend_DB? I appreciate all the help.

Hello,

I wonder why there is no adapter for mssql_* functions like Zend_Db_Adapter_Mssql but is only pdo version. Is there any particular reason for that?

regards
