I haven't really used XAMPP before, but does it have logging for MySQL turned on? This may turn up an error on the database side of things. I mean looking at the error log the last problem appears to be with apache not being able to find your site favicon.As you say this does look like an issue with the database. If MySQL hasn't had the error log enabled you can do it through the my.cnf file. This page; http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/error-log.html, has more details on the error log. Perhaps that will shed some light on the matter.
